Sweet Vendetta had a nice run in the Black-Eyed Susan, and it was quite unusual having a celebrity involved who actually knew what they were talking about — well done, David Cassidy! ESPN really lucked out doing the pre-race interview with Channing Hill – is there a more telegenic jockey working at the moment?
But back to Sweet Vendetta; I just had a look at her pedigree and I really like her dam’s side (and the fact that all her dam’s foals are winners) — I will definitely been keeping an eye out for her going forward (especially in the rain).
Slate has an interesting idea — why not open the Triple Crown to horses of any age? Given that most of the general public seems unaware that it’s restricted to three-year-olds anyway, if it’s something that would keep older horses in training, it may be worth considering. I’ve dismissed the idea out of hand before, but I could be persuaded. I would watch Curlin take a second crack at it.
Could David Cassidy’s face have been any stiffer? Having had quite a girlhood crush on the guy, that face is now the stuff of nightmares…
Who is Team Penny Racing? I understand that they actually own 75% of SV and David Cassidy only 25%. Yes a horse to watch!
Missed the title reference the first time…and I don’t know why, because checking it out again, the lyrics started flooding, unbidden, through my brain…
I’m not sure I like this…
