Invasor – He Is The Best!

How good is Invasor? (And how cool is Fernando Jara?) I was actually more impressed by his gutsy effort in the Donn than his Breeders’ Cup victory, and his stretch duel with the fantastic Premium Tap today was tremendous. Discreet Cat even looked a bit green (with his limited number of lifetime starts, perhaps that’s to be expected) at the start and then seemed like he wanted no part of the distance — missing his prep did him no favors. He may well be the best miler in the world, but he certainly seems to require kid gloves.

Asiatic Boy’s performance in the UAE Derby
was also very impressive — clearly, they are doing something right breeding-wise in South America.

Overall impressions: Invasor is scary and should keep off the Lasix, Discreet Cat needs everything to go his own way, Premium Tap is seriously underrated, Lava Man still can’t leave the Golden State, my iPod is no prognosticator of victory.

I think your overall impressions are awesome and I couldn’t agree more.

To listen to the media last week, Discreet Cat was the second coming of Bernardini (who was the second coming of Barbaro)… I’m afraid that next “second coming” horse is going to be Asiatic Boy.

Premium Tap will probably still get you great odds next time he goes out, since no one is paying any attention to him.
