Finally, the last race on Friday – the Not The Distaff. Some of these fillies and mares have missed out on some of the limelight with all the attention given to Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra, but it’s time for them to be noticed by a wider audience:

PP Horse Jockey Trainer ML
#1 Life at Ten John Velazquez Todd Pletcher 7-2
If you throw out her third-place effort in the Personal Ensign, she’s otherwise been unbeatable this year – but this should put her to the test.
#2 It’s Tea Time Julien Leparoux George Arnold 15-1
Has had an up and down year, but clearly has talent.
#3 Malibu Prayer Garrett Gomez Todd Pletcher 8-1
The ‘other’ Pletcher filly in the race has had a good year on the whole, but has not raced since August.
#4 Milwaukee Appeal Rafael Bejarano Scott Fairlie 30-1
Has finished close behind Acoma, but further back from Life At Ten; often finishes in the money.
#5 Acting Happy Jose Lezcano Richard Dutrow 20-1
Black-Eyed Susan winner finished third in her two subsequent starts this year, but has not run since August.
#6 Persistently Alan Garcia Shug McGaughey 12-1
Defeated Rachel Alexandra in the Personal Ensign (appropriately enough, given her trainer); followed that up with a third-place finish in the Beldame.
#7 Seeking the Title Calvin Borel Dallas Stewart 30-1
Last won the Iowa Oaks in June, though this is much stiffer competition.
#8 Unrivaled Belle Kent Desormeaux William Mott 8-1
Another Rachel Alexandra vanquisher earlier this year; she has been finishing just behind Life At Ten ever since.
#9 Acoma Robby Albarado David Carroll 20-1
Won the Spinster in her last outing, but seems more frequently to earn her money the hard way.
#10 Blind Luck Joel Rosario Jerry Hollendorfer 9-5
Tough, consistent filly has been trading wins with Havre de Grace of late – will being side-by-side affect them?
#11 Havre de Grace Jeremy Rose Anthony Dutrow 4-1
Beat Blind Luck last time after two second-place finishes behind her; will they be caught in an early speed duel on the outside?

Predictions: Blind Luck, Life At Ten, Havre de Grace, Persistently (with Unrivaled Belle thrown in a few exotics).
