Isn’t it odd that ESPN the Magazine chose to Alex Solis to represent naked jockeys, over Chantal Sutherland, for their clothing-optional issue (out on Friday)? You can watch him getting some nether-makeup here (about 1:10 in on the video) as he prepares for his closeup; note that Levi the horse avoids total nudity (and, apparently, cosmetics) with a bridle. Granted, Solis likely offers a more ‘typical’ jockey physique, given the gender disparity in the sport, but it’s still a little surprising they didn’t opt for her – after all, I rarely get search results for ‘Alex Solis nude’ whereas ‘Chantal Sutherland nude’ is quite a popular topic.
Still, it’s exposure for the sport, right?
(Did you see what I did there? I do apologize – I’m distracted by the notion of tasteful nude photos of Oguchi Onyewu – pictured).
Very clever blog topic to generate search engine traffic.
It sure brought me around, Eddie.
Solis was probably a good choice for female fans.
Maybe Chantal Sutherland was just too obvious a prospect. And actually, if you go to her Web site and view the introduction sequence, you can get a pretty good grasp of her qualifications without any involvement from ESPN.
Solis?
What were they thinking?
This jock has at least one female fan (see background.
