More Breeders’ Cup Tickets Available

I got a letter yesterday informing me that extra Breeders’ Cup tickets are on sale if you act now — applications must be in before September 1st, after which point, the seats will become available to “the general public” (horrors!).

So I’m curious to know whether this means they simply held a large block of tickets back or if they really had turned down so many applications that they needed to create some additional seating. I know that freebie tickets are very hard to come by this year since Monmouth is so small, but I do wonder what sort of seats ticket touts agents ended up with (presumably better ones than I did).

On the one hand, I am tempted to try to ‘upgrade’ my tickets, but on the other, I’m disinclined to spend more money since I’m sure I’ll be spending some money on the day (and hey, there’s even some not-half-bad merchandise). Of course, you may first want to place bets on who will retire with a mysterious injury or illness before the big day…

Thanks for the link, i got the same mail yesterday. I asked some friends if they wanted to go, but I think we’d all rather watch from home now. Friday will be a nice day to be there, but saturday… I’m inclined to wager from home as i do best from there.

Ouch! I got the same letter too. My problem, I already spent 750 dollars for two seats in section 700. I think the way the Breeder’s Cup handels the tickets is a joke.
