An outstanding wagering race!
I’ll be looking closely at Fantastic Song as he hails from a barn that I follow.

Hoping for a few scratches to simplify the routine and hopefully clear the hurdles for the best late kickers.

I don’t think more than twelve green two year olds should be allowed on the Churchill Downs turf course. Anything more is an accident just waiting to happen.

Nice piece and “seemed too rushed to explore others” is EXACTLY the words I was looking for to describe my feelings toward the documentary. Another 30-minutes to flesh out the story lines you mentioned would have been perfect.

Really good article. I could not agree with you more. I particular like your “win-fail” Nike comparison. But maybe the playboy model is a target for the mens market for what she is wearing … sadly next to nothing. Anyway nice read will pass onto my two daughter who love their sport.

i think racing isn't as heavily marketed as say NASCAR is maybe because organizers aren't as aggressive in their efforts or maybe he sport tends to veer towards the more traditional side...imo but it depends. i was at last year's Melbourne Cup and was quite frankly impressed...

I was hoping to see Master of Hounds in the Belmonnt. Ah, well. I bet much lighter into the race than I have in years and was rewarded for doing so. I always think of Hunter and Bukowski, the men who interested me in the game, before the race. Hunter would have like the huge crowd. Bukowski would have wished he were in his room with his cats drinking and writing.

I hope you are wrong. Master of Hounds looks like he deserves the class descriptor in this race.

Too bad for the folks he races for but I was glad Mo did not make it to the race. There oughtn’t be any questions about a horse’s health before trying a long race in a big field.
